Intent
To explore what people believe and what difference this makes to how they live (by providing a broad and balanced variety of teaching and learning experiences within the context of religious education, ensuring both religions and non-religions are explored) so that pupils can gain the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to handle questions raised by religion and belief, reflecting on their own ideas and ways of living.
Teaching and learning is in line with “Identities, meanings, values: The RE Agreed Syllabus 2023-2028 (Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire and Luton)
The Education Reform Act 1988 requires that there is a daily act of collective worship provided for each child and at Laburnum collective worship forms part of daily assembly. This may be through the sharing of Bible stories or in asking children to be reflective about events they may have seen or been involved in.
Parents are entitled to arrange for children to be withdrawn from Collective Worship or Religious Education or both in which case they should contact the Headteacher.
