Nursery - Apple Class
Welcome to Apple Class
Nursery Leads: Mrs Opper & Mrs Cook
Support Staff: Mrs Mapletoft & Mrs Robinson.
We would like to warmly welcome you and your child to Apple class. We understand that starting Nursery is a very exciting and important stage in your child’s life and look forward to building strong partnerships with you. We believe that, in order for children to reach their full potential, they must feel happy, valued, safe and secure. We aim to achieve this within a creative and stimulating environment, where children are encouraged to learn through free flow exploration in both our indoor and outdoor areas.
Home Learning Expectations: Children are expected to practise core skills every week:
-
For home learning we encourage book sharing.
-
WOW moments are communicated through Class Dojo, where we celebrate children’s successes in their learning.
The Reception/Early Years Curriculum: Full information is available on the curriculum section of our website.
We follow the EYFS curriculum, where we learn through a play based curriculum building on children's knowledge and skills in our indoor and outdoor spaces. Children can move freely between the areas, providing opportunities for them to follow their own interests supported and developed by our staff.
We follow the EYFS curriculum so your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating understanding through 7 areas of learning and development.
We learn early Phonics, through rhymes and listening activities, enjoy listening to stories, mark making and number as well as some exciting topics. Our circle times allow us to begin to explore the school values as a class.
